Neymar After Securing His Future: I Want to Achieve the Rest of My Dreams

The Brazilian football sensation Neymar da Silva has officially signed an extension of his contract with Santos FC, ensuring his presence at the club until the conclusion of the year 2026. This announcement was made personally by the player through the official social media channels of the club.

Neymar expressed his sentiments during the contract renewal announcement, stating, “The year 2025 was special and filled with challenges for me; it included moments of joy and overcoming obstacles that I could not have faced without your love.”

He further added, “Now that 2026 has arrived, fate could not have chosen a different path; Santos is my place, and here I feel at home, safe, and happy. With you, I want to achieve the rest of my dreams.”

Return to Roots and Recent Challenges

Neymar, now at the age of 33, made a return to his childhood club in January of the previous year. Despite grappling with injuries and the team’s struggles during the Brazilian league season, he played a pivotal role in helping Santos avoid relegation during the crucial final matches of the campaign.

On December 22 of last year, Santos announced that Neymar had undergone a successful minor surgery on his left knee, following a series of knee injuries that have plagued him in recent years.

Since suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament during World Cup qualifiers in October 2023, Neymar has not represented the Brazilian national team. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful about joining the squad for the upcoming World Cup this summer. The national team’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has repeatedly indicated that Neymar will be considered for selection if he regains full fitness.

Since his return to Santos at the beginning of 2025, Neymar has scored 11 goals in 34 matches played for the club.
