In a recent interview, Lionel Messi, the acclaimed player of Inter Miami, shared insights into his daily life in Miami and his aspirations following retirement from professional football.
During a conversation with Luzu TV, Messi noted, “In the United States, I live a tranquil life. In this area of Miami, where many Americans reside, people lead different lifestyles and do not place much significance on football. Back in Barcelona, when I went out, people were accustomed to my presence; I lived there my entire life, frequented the same places, and it felt natural to lead an ordinary life.”
He further elaborated on his routine, explaining, “My life is heavily reliant on routine. Here, with my children, it’s quite similar; we attend training sessions, but we don’t go out much.”
Future Aspirations Beyond Football
In a candid revelation regarding his plans after hanging up his boots, Messi expressed a keen interest in becoming a football club owner, indicating a desire to experience the journey of developing and nurturing a team from the ground up.
The diminutive forward stated, “I do not particularly enjoy the coaching profession, but I am more inclined towards ownership. I would like to own a club, contribute to its growth, and start from scratch, providing opportunities for young talents to develop and building an important team.”

Messi concluded his discussion by emphasizing that his foray into the business world has equipped him for life as a retired athlete, underlining the significance of having the right people around him: “I have individuals around me who have greatly assisted me. Throughout my life, my focus has been solely on football, but there comes a moment when one must look beyond that. I enjoy this aspect and am striving to learn, but it is crucial to surround myself with qualified individuals.”
