Real Madrid’s new head coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, faced a harsh initiation as his team suffered a stunning defeat against Albacete, a second-division club, with a score of 2-3. This loss resulted in the team’s elimination from the Copa del Rey in the Round of 16.

Albacete’s goals were netted by Javi Villar and Jefri Bentancur, who scored twice at minutes 42, 82, and 95. Real Madrid managed to find the back of the net through Franco Mastantuno and Gonzalo García, who scored in the dying moments at 45+3 and 91 minutes, respectively.

The defeat came as a significant blow to Real Madrid, occurring merely 48 hours after the appointment of Álvaro Arbeloa as the head coach, following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso.
